This Photo was taken in 1971 in Houston, Alabama where we lived at the time when my dad owned
this ultra rare car. The 1971 Chevrolet Impala in the picture was brand new. Check out the unique
grill on the Talladega car. I remember opening the glove compartment where the emergency
flasher toggle switch was and seeing a sticker that stated "This Vehicle Not for Highway Usage". I
recall daddy showing that note off to nearly everyone that he showed the car to.
The Talledega 500 was very fast. I remember riding with dad at speeds exceeding 100 mph on
several occasions. One time on US Hwy 278 near the Road Runners Rest ( an old convenience
store)
It seemed the car was just about to be airborne and seeing the speedometer pass the 120mph
mark.   Ahhhh those were the days.
One of My childhood memories
was of this RARE
Talledega 500
My early years were filled with Old Classic and Rare Cars. So many I don't have the time nor space
to share.
Old  Chevrolet's , Dodges, Plymouth's, Ford's, and the list goes on and on.....

Our family owned a service station, a parts store, and a salvage yard. I can blame dad and my
environment for the passion that I have for 50's 60's and 70's Cars and Trucks.

Thanks for dropping by.

Thanks for Looking.
